Monetary Fund Manager: Three main axes that prioritize government spending over the coming period
Digital economy is a winning horse for the coming period, do your best to not miss the opportunity
Invest in your people, invest in education, invest in social protection
I fear that the acceleration of the digital transformation will lead to a gap between applicants and those late in it around the world
We learned from the pandemic that we are all of the same strength as the weak among us, so make every effort to support the citizens ’endurance
Kristalina Georgieva, Director-General of the International Monetary Fund, provided a package of advice to the governments of the world in light of coexistence with the “Corona” virus with the importance of defining jurisprudence priorities during the coming period consisting of three main axes, saying: “The first of these axes has made the health sector a priority in spending through Supporting hospitals, doctors, and nursing, and secondly, providing financial support to the business sector and citizens most in need, with the necessity not to withdraw this support quickly.
The Fund Manager, in her dialogue with the “Cairo Now” program, completed the broadcast on “Al-Arabiya Al-Hadath” media presentation by Mays Al-Hadidi “The third priority at this stage is that we know this epidemic offers us opportunities as well and therefore my advice to countries to direct their financial incentives to support their competitive capabilities in the future The best example of this is the digital economy, which is a profitable sector during the epidemic period, so you must do everything in your power in order not to lose these opportunities.
Cristalina expressed her concern that the growing phenomenon of digital transformation in the world following the Corona pandemic will create a gap between applicants and those who are late in the digital transformation, saying: “I am particularly concerned to see the widening gap between applicants and those behind in this digital field.”
She advised governments: “The government must ensure that it takes decisive measures to support this transformation. Invest in your people, invest in education, invest in social protection. The epidemic taught us that we are all as strong as the weak among us, so be sure to do everything possible to support the durability of citizens and not just the strength of the business sector. ”
